Mahatma Jesus was born at a place called Bethlehem. This place is in Palestine near the west coast of the Mediterranean Sea. Even after almost two thousand years of his birth, crores of people of the world remember his teachings and try to follow them.
The Jewish people lived in Palestine, which was under the Roman Empire. There was once a census. All the people had to go to their place of birth according to the rules of that time. A poor Jewish carpenter named Joseph came to Bethlehem with his wife Mary to take the census.
He had to spend the night in the stable. That night, Mary gave birth to a boy, who was named Jesus. Later, this child became famous by the name of Jesus Christ.
Jesus used to take great interest in the matters of religion since childhood. He had all the signs of becoming a great man. He was sharp-witted, calm, humble and soft-spoken.
As Jesus grew up, his attitude shifted away from the world towards God. He left home at the age of thirty. Started living with a Mahatma named John and Jesus took initiation from him. Mahatma John was a great man who lived a simple life. After receiving initiation from John, Jesus fasted in the wilderness for forty days.
He attained knowledge by being constantly engaged in meditation. After this, Jesus gave his first sermon on a mountain. In this he said
- Blessed are those who are pure in heart because only they will get the darshan of God.
- Blessed are those who make peace, because they will get the kingdom of the earth.
- Donate secretly. Even your left hand should not know what the right hand has given.
- If you forgive your fellow man, God will forgive your crimes also.
- Love even your enemies who curse you. Bless those who hate you, do good to those who oppress you. and pray for them.
Many people became his followers after listening to the teachings of Jesus Christ. He used to tell them. "Love all men, do unto others as you would have them do unto you."
Some people turned against Jesus Christ. Because they were not ready to agree to fight with Rome. Some people also became jealous of Jesus Christ because of his fame.
On the arrival of Jesus Christ in Jerusalem, some Jewish religious leaders hatched a conspiracy and made false complaints about him to the rulers. It is said that Judas, a disciple of Jesus Christ, was also involved in this conspiracy.
Mahatma Isa was caught and made a prisoner. He was sentenced to life imprisonment. In the crowded market among the same people for whose welfare he worked all his life. Jesus Christ had to carry his own cross.
He was nailed to the cross and nailed to his feet. The crucified Jesus Christ did not bear ill will towards his enemies even in helpless agony. He prayed for them. "O Lord! Forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing?"
Jesus Christ gave up his life on the cross. The message of love, brotherhood and tolerance of Jesus Christ is alive even today.
