Ans. - The new question that the Elephant's child asked was, "What does the crocodile have for dinner?" It made all his relatives spank him for a long time.

Ans. - The Kolokolo bird told the elephant's child to go to the banks of the great grey-green, greasy Lompopo River and find out what the crocodile had for dinner.

7. Who did the Elephant's Child meet on the banks of the great grey green greasy Limpopo river and what did the creature do?
Ans. - The elephant's child met the crocodile on the banks of the great grey-green greasy Limopop River. The crocodile caught the Elephant's child by his little nose.

GO ONE STEP FORWARD


We use the forms of the verb 'be'-was/wasn't/we re weren't as helping verbs along with the 'ing' fo ms of the verb to form the past continuous tense - was/ wasn't/weren't eating. 

Use the past continuo us tense: - 
 for an action that was taking place at a particular time in the past

They were swimming at five yesterday evening. 
I wasn't swimming. 
I was sitting by the pool. 

 for an action that was taking place in the past when another action interrupted it. The action going on in the past is in the past continuous tense and the second action is in the simple past tense. 

We were having dinner last night when the doorbell rang. 
We weren't expecting visitors at that time. 

 for two or more actions taking place at the same time in the past

Last night I was reading my storybook while Dad was watching the news on TV and Mom was having a bath. 
Grandpa and Grandma weren't watching the news. 

Answer these questions about what you and your family were doing yesterday. Use the past continuo us tense.

2. What were your parents doing at 7:00 pm yesterday? 
3. What were you doing at 4:00 pm yesterday?
